Aidan MaKinster

'26(product design for innovation) School of Individualized Study

Aidan MaKinster grew up in Waterloo, NY, a small town an hour east of Rochester on I-90, and spent his summers in Acadia National Park in Maine. There he spent a lot of time outside: hiking, swimming, climbing, and especially biking. Growing up he was always tinkering and coming up with new ideas, inspiring inventions of his own creation and an educational path at RIT. At RIT, he has studied Product Design for Innovation in the School of Individualized Study, allowing him to turn his lifelong dream of becoming an inventor into his future. He has taken these studies and applied them to his lifelong interest, mountain biking, creating his own entrepreneurial venture, RAIZE Industries through funding via the SOIS Gap Year Fellowship. RAIZE Industries is founded on the idea of making you faster through innovative thinking and taking new approaches to solving long-standing problems in the mountain bike industry. RAIZE Industries flagship product, the Multi Position Mountain Bike Stem, aims to come to market within the next year, allowing for on the fly adjustable steering geometry at the push of a button
